Here for you

A free and confidential NHS service

We all experience times when we feel like we can’t cope, sometimes this can start to affect our everyday lives and prevent us from doing the things we normally do.

If you are suffering from anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, low mood or excessive worry, NHS Talking Therapies can provide you with advice, guidance and support. Vita Health Group works in partnership with the NHS to provide talking therapy services, known as IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) and we can provide advice and guidance on the best options for you.

NHS Talking Therapies is a FREE service and you don’t need to visit a GP to get help –  the fastest way to get support is by choosing one of the self-referral options below.

Update on Talking Therapies Services

You may have heard about changes to Talking Therapy services in Derby and Derbyshire. Currently, there have been no changes.

Talking Therapies is an NHS service and continues to be provided every day by four providers who are working to an NHS contract. This means that the service is based on a programme of care set by the NHS, and the support you receive remains free at the point of care. Anyone requiring care and support from Talking Therapy services should continue to seek a referral from their GP, or to refer themselves. There are currently waiting lists for Talking Therapy services which we are working to reduce. The four current providers are:

The local NHS is currently working to agree a new contract for this service, due to the current contract expiring in 2025. In the event of a change of provider in 2025, waiting lists will be transferred seamlessly to any new providers, and you will continue to be seen when you reach the top of the waiting list. The care will remain free at the point of delivery on the NHS.

If you or your loved one are experiencing distress or anxiety, or feeling that you cannot cope, call 0800 028 0077 for support over the phone. The Derbyshire Mental Health Helpline and Support Service is a freephone service available to everyone living in Derbyshire – young people and adults. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The SignVideo app also allows deaf or hard of hearing people to make BSL interpreted videos calls via their electronic device.
